New Covenant Ministries

Mission:
To promote Kingdom living by nurturing a balance in the believer's spiritual, emotional and physical aspects of his or her life.  And to train and teach believers how to advance the Kingdom of God in the earth.

New Covenant Community Development

Mission:
To promote healthy community living by addressing homelessness, substance abuse, hunger and at risk youth.

New Covenant Community Development is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to provide crisis intervention, transitional housing, case management, counseling, advocacy and information/referral to victims of homelessness, substance abuse and at risk youth.  We operate as non-profit corporation according to the laws of the state of Alabama.  We maintain, administer and expend funds for approved programming needs.  We develop programs with a proactive approach including prevention strategies.  The purposes for which this organization is organized are exclusively religious, charitable, scientific, literary and/or educational within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.

Life in the Kingdom Project

Mission:
To help the Body of Christ to become self sufficient in the Kingdom of God.

In  2006, Pastor Smith discovered that there were needs within New Covenant while trying to meet the needs of those in the community.  So God placed in his spirit to start an in reach program for the church called the Life in the Kingdom Project.  Every family gives $5.00 a week towards this effort to meet the needs of the members of New Covenant Church. Before there can be an effective outreach there first must be an effective in reach.  The human body is sufficient in itself.  God has provided in the body all that is necessary for life.  It can nourish itself.  It does not require outside aid except in infancy or in sickness.  The same is true of the Body of Christ.  God has given us everything that is needed for life and godliness.

The Covenant House

Mission:
To promote healthy community living by addressing hunger, homelessness, substance abuse, domestic violence and at-risk youth.

Program Description:
Crisis Intervention, Counseling, Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, Advocacy, Information/Referral, Support Group/Prevention.

The Covenant House is a transitional home for women and their dependent children.
It is estimated that approximately 1% of the U.S. population experience homelessness each year, with 38% of them being children.  Over 50% of this identified population has also been confronted with domestic violence.  Substance abuse can also be associated with homelessness and domestic violence in many instances.

Because all people who experience homelessness, domestic violence or substance abuse do not utilize service providers, it is impossible to obtain exact statistics.  More important than knowing the precise number of people who experience these hardships is our progress in ending them.  Recent studies suggest that the United States generate homelessness at a much higher rate than previously thought.

The Covenant Pantry

Mission:
To eliminate hunger in the community.

Program Description:
The Covenant Pantry, a project of New Covenant Community Development, has been in operation since June, 2003.  However, we began distributing food to the  local community in 1998.  The Covenant Pantry currently provides food to approximately 100-120 families per month with many of them returning each month as this is a source of their ability to feed their families on a consistent basis.  Many of the citizens we serve are elderly, handicapped, disabled and unemployed.

New Covenant Christian Daycare

Mission:
To reach out to children and their families by providing an environment that nurtures sound spiritual, physical, social and developmental needs.

Spiritual - We believe that basic Christian principles are essential in providing children with a solid foundation for their future growth.  Through special Christian curriculum, we are able to meet this task.  Children are taught that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour and that the Bible is the written Word of God and the way for their lives to be patterned.

Physical - We recognize the need to provide an age-appropriate physical environment for each child.

Social - We provide channels by which children are able to experience positive ways to develop socially through basic Christian concepts.

Developmental - We believe that the majority of a child's learning foundation is established at a young age.  We focus on this concept by providing an accepting, non-threatening learning environment that is developmentally age-appropriate.  We provide a hands-on learning style environment that allows exploration and discovery.

We are a non-profit ministry of New Covenant Church specializing in care for children six weeks to four years.  We, at New Covenant Christian Daycare hope to help each child build the foundation needed for successful Christian living now and forever.
